Westminster woman, Eva Marie Goddard Brown, was struck by a 16-year old driver at a bus stop on Thursday July 11th. The accident occurred right before 6 a.m. in the 7000 block of Sheridan Boulevard.

Hit and run crashes in the Denver area are on the rise. In fact, over the last six years, hit and run accidents have increased by nearly 70% in Denver and surrounding areas. One of those areas is Arvada, Colorado.
In June 2019, a black sedan driver hit a young 14-year-old boy at the intersection of 64th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard in Arvada. The young boy was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. According to recent reports, investigators had not officially determined who had the right-of-way at the time of the accident. On September 30, 2018, 25-year-old Angela Wimmer stopped at a stoplight at the intersection of West Colfax Avenue and Kipling Street on her way home from church. Suddenly, she was hit from behind by a suspected drunk driver. The collision pushed her car into oncoming traffic, where she was hit by three other vehicles. In 1994, Patricio Martinez was driving drunk when he smashed into a 20-year-old motorcyclist and killed him. That was his fifth DUI. He had a blood alcohol of 2 ½ times the legal limit. Prior to that fatal night, Martinez never went to prison for his prior DUIs. Instead, he was given a plea deal that gave him a chance to have the felony DUI conviction disappear.
