The new law passed in Colorado will have the toughest measures referring to the concussion laws in young athletes. The new law that was just signed into effect, states that any young athlete, as young as 11 years old, that is suspected to have suffered a head injury must sit out.
This law requires coaches in public schools, private schools, Little League and Pop Warner to take a free online training session every year to learn how to determine the signs of a concussion.
Many other states only require school-related coaches to participate in these training seminars. The law will go into affect in January and comes after concerns for the long-term damage concussions can do, especially when they are received at such a young age.
If you or a loved one has suffered a concussion, you may have grounds to take legal action. Contact the Denver concussion lawyers of Hull & Zimmerman, P.C., by calling (303) 423-1770 today.
