Firework safety on the Fourth of July

Tomorrow is the Fourth of July, which means millions of Americans will participate in fireworks shows to celebrate the Declaration of Independence’s 236th anniversary.

While they are fun to light and watch, fireworks also come with many dangers. Each year, 9,000 people are injured by fireworks, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. A fifth of firework injuries involve the eyes and can sometimes lead to permanent vision loss or full blindness.

To prevent firework injuries, it is important to read and follow all of the directions on the labels. Parents should closely supervise children who are allowed to handle fireworks.

There are many ways fireworks can injure a person. The Denver personal injury lawyers of Hull & Zimmerman, P.C., urge people to use fireworks responsibly and wish you a safe and happy Independence Day.
