State police investigating train/truck accident

The Colorado State Patrol is currently investigating a train accident that occurred yesterday evening in Wellington. A train and a truck collided at around 10:30 p.m. just north of Fort Collins.

The accident occurred at the railroad crossing at East County Road 64. Police reported that a young man was driving the truck, which suffered damage to its passenger side and front end. The train stopped after it collided with the pickup truck.

The cause of the accident is not known at this time. Reports did not indicate whether or not the truck’s driver was injured in the railroad crossing accident.
