Study reveals intersections in Boulder with the most accidents

Boulder’s “Safe Streets Boulder Report” reveals statistics on accidents at the city’s most dangerous intersections.  The study analyzed vehicle accidents that occurred at 15 intersections between January 2008 and April 2011.

More than 8,500 accidents involving vehicles, pedestrians, bicyclists, and skateboarders were analyzed in the study.  Four of the city’s most dangerous intersections are located near the CU Boulder campus on Broadway.  In addition, research revealed that the city’s most dangerous intersection is just north of the college, at Regent Drive and Colorado Avenue.

Pedestrians and bicyclists in Boulder are most likely to be hit at an intersection, according to the study; 56 percent of bicycle accidents and 44 percent of pedestrian accidents in the studied time period occurred at intersections.
