Toyota recalling 1.9 million of its Prius cars after the company’s engineers found problems with the power converter software.
The recall was issued on Wednesday, February 12. It is the largest volume recall that Toyota has released for the Prius since its market release in 1997.
The software defect could set off of the vehicle’s warning lights causing the car to operate on reduced, fail-safe, power. According to a company spokesman, in the worst case scenario, the Prius would suddenly stop operating.
