Early this morning, a 3-vehicle car accident occurred in Colorado Springs. The accident left 6 people injured. Initial investigations lead officials to believe that speeding and alcohol were factors in the accident.
The car accident occurred at around 2 a.m. at the intersection of Yuma and Yampa when a vehicle ran a stop sign and hit a second vehicle. A third vehicle then crashed trying to avoid the initial collision.
Reports indicate that one of the vehicles involved in the accident flipped over and a passenger was trapped inside. Emergency crews were able to extricate the person within 18 minutes after their arrival.
6 people were taken to hospitals after the accident. The individual who had to be extricated from their vehicle was listed as being in critical condition and the others were described as being in stable condition.
