The Kansas Highway Patrol cited a severe dust storm as the cause of an 11-vehicle pileup on Thursday, January 15. Three men were killed in the accident.

Seven tractor-trailer vehicles and four passenger vehicles were involved in the accident. The accident occurred on Highway 83 in Thomas County, near the Colorado border.

Jerold Lamb, 66, of Colorado, Scott Breeden, 51, and James Ocie Perrott, 57 were all killed in the accident.
