This weekend, a father and his two children were injured in a car accident when their vehicle, a 2001 Subaru Outback, slid making a turn, and crashed into a pickup truck on C.R. 55 in Steamboat Springs. According to the Colorado State Police, the accident occurred at around 1 p.m. on Saturday.
The father was traveling southbound on Routt County Road 55 and drove around a bend to the right when his vehicle slid into the northbound lanes of the road and into a 2000 Ford F350. The Outback crashed into the pickup truck’s left side. Police reported that the road was covered in melting snow and mud.
One of the driver’s kids, a 5-year-old girl, sustained serious injuries in the car accident. The girl was taken to Children’s Hospital in Denver, where she was later listed as being in good condition. The father and his 3-year-old son suffered minor injuries; no one in the pickup truck was injured.
