Winter tires offer technological differences from summer tires and all-season tires, they have better traction performance when the weather dips under 40 degrees Fahrenheit and provide softer tread compounds that allow for a greater amount of flexibility no matter how cold it gets out there.
Your tire’s grip is extremely important during the ice and slush months. Not only do snow tires have excellent grip that will help you avoid hydroplaning, but they will also help drivers avoid getting stuck. They contribute to greater reliability when it comes to stopping and steering, too.
The driver will maintain significantly more control over the vehicle when snow tires are utilized during the winter season, as they have up to 50% better traction than all-season tires.
Lots of research has gone into making snow tires safe for drivers. Technology that uses computer modeling to create tread designs helps to construct a model of a tire without having to put the cost into actually making the tire.
Engineers and designers can use the models to figure out the best angles and placements of tread grooves easily and efficiently.
These advances help to keep tire costs down, allow for quick and simple testing, and they get better with time through performance improvements. This is all great news for those on the roads.
