Heavy snowfall in Greeley, Colorado in late February made roads slick and wet, increasing the potential for traffic accidents to occur.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the icy and snow-packed roads made for poor visibility throughout the county, resulting mainly in minor crashes, such as fender-benders and vehicles sliding off the roads; however, one serious accident did occur, in which a 16-year-old boy was hit by a snowplow near Colorado 60 and Weld County Road 25, east of Milliken on February 24.
Sustaining non-life threatening wounds, he was taken to the North Colorado Medical Center, according to State Patrol spokesman Trooper Josh Lewis.
