Widow files wrongful death suit in towing accident

The widow of a Colorado Springs tow truck driver has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the 33-year old driver that caused the fatal towing accident that killed her husband.  The 35-year old J&J Towing co-owner was killed while attempting to tow a vehicle from an apartment complex parking lot in February.

The lawsuit was filed against the 33-year old woman whose GMC SUV was illegally parked and being towed.  The woman has been charged with manslaughter, vehicular homicide, and leaving the scene of an accident involving personal injury.

The woman jumped in her vehicle and attempted to drive away as the tow truck driver was towing her vehicle.  In the process, the tow truck driver’s legs were caught in the tow cables and he was dragged for more than a mile.
