Wildfire causes the evacuation of 223 homes

A wildfire in Boulder, Colorado caused the evacuation of nearly 223 homes in the area.

The fire broke out at 6:45 a.m. and by mid-morning nearly 50 firefighters from a dozen departments were at the scene and the homes were already evacuated. The weather conditions helped to put out the fire because snow was expected to fall on the area.

By the afternoon, nearly 60 percent of the fire was contained and fire fighters prevented dozens of homes from being destroyed.  The blaze was started in a recreational area, but investigators are unaware of what caused the fire at this time.
