Woman to receive $65,000 after wrongful death of dog

A Denver woman hired a cleaning service to clean her home for three hours, and when she returned home from running errands she found that the cleaning professionals had left, and her dog was dead underneath  her dining room table.

The woman claimed that her dog had somehow exited the home, and was then hit by a motor vehicle. The cleaners were aware of the fact that the dog was injured, and allowed the canine to just curl up in an area of the home, and slowly die.

A wrongful death lawsuit was filed against the cleaning company, and a Denver judge sided with the dog’s owner in the case. The judge deemed that the cleaning company was responsible for the negligent death of the dog. A verdict of $65,000 was announced in the case.

This verdict may be classified as one of the largest payouts in the case of a dead animal, showing that family pets are worth more than what they were purchased for.
